Link nodded, and smiled. He hoped that the pretty girl wasn't annoyed by his interest in the jewels. Her brief responses to his inquiries about them made her seem rather secretive about their purpose. Not wanting to make Kay discuss things that she'd rather keep to herself, Link quickly added, "Unless you'd rather not talk about them..."

"It's just that...I'm not sure you'd believe me if I told you."
Replied Kaythenia, tucking her pendant underneath her scarlet tunic. Although she was really too young to understand it at the moment Kaythenia had a problem similar to that of Link and his doppelganger but she shared a body with hers.

The Hylian boy chuckled under his breathe a bit. Believe her? Link had seen so many crazy things happen on his journeys, that he'd believe just about anything. "I'm pretty sure I'll believe you..." He laughed. "Trust me...quite a few of the things in my inventory are capable of unbelievable magics."
Link wondered what the girl would think of him if he tried to tell her about the three magical masks he had in his inventory. "One turns me into a Deku Scrub, one turns me into a Goron, and the last one turns me into a Zora." He pictured himself saying. She'd probably think he was crazy. The only person he could think of that had more strange items then him was the windmill man in Kakariko, but he was a bit...off...

Kaythenia had run into the windmill man of Kakariko but in a way she thought herself crazy, sometimes hearing a weird voice in her head which made her amulet react. It was strange to say the least...but that isn't something that you mention in the average conversation unless you want to be branded as a lunatic.
"Well...I won't do too much here or I'll draw attention to myself."
It was better to show than to tell really so Kaythenia concentrated and placed both palms together, then suddenly she pulled them apart and a spiral of fire was whirling like a small tornado between both palms and weaving in and out of her fingers.

"Wow...that's incredible..." Link awed, as he watched the spirals of fire swim around Kay's hands. This amulet immediately reminded him of Din's Fire, a charm that he could use to cast a circle of defensive fire.
"You know...I have something kind of similar to that..." Link smiled, reaching into his inventory bag. "Din's Fire...a little charm I use that has aided me many times on my quests..." He pulled it out, and held it close to her so she could see.

"Din?"
Kaythenia must have seemed rather odd for saying that but she truly didn't know who Din was...losing your memory in large patches does that to you. She absently fiddled with her pendant as she studied Din's Fire. It seemed similar to her own jewel.
"Who's Din?"

"She really must be new here..." Link thought to himself, as his eyes glanced at the charm, and then wandered up to Kaythenia again. "Din is the goddess of power...she is one of the three goddesses you created the Hyrule...very famous in Hyrule mythology, and history..."
Link concentrated on the charm in his hand, and a small amount of fire energy began to swirl around it.

Kaythenia looked like she was trying to think as her brow furrowed slightly but as usual all she got were a few distorted voices and blurry images. Nothing of any use.
"I'm sorry, I've never heard of her. At least I don't remember it..."
She looked kind if awkward when she mentioned that and closed her hand around her pendant. Her sleeve had ridden up slightly exposing the scars the circled her wrists.

Link caught sight of the scars, and an expression of shock formed on his face. He put Din's Fire away, and forced himself to smile, trying not to look at the scars.
Of course, he was concerned...he wanted to ask her about the marks on her wrists...however, he didn't want to make her discuss anything that she didn't want to, and he also didn't want to seem nosey.

Kaythenia had noticed Link's abrupt change in expression and she frowned slightly, His smile looking like someone had stitched awkwardly onto his face. She didn't know the scars circling her wrists were on show, if she did then she probably would have walked away from him by now.
"What's wrong Link?"
'Why is he looking at me like that?'

"Gah...nothing...I...jus...just thought of something that disturbed me, that's all..." He answered, awkardly. He knew his response sounded fake, but he figured that Kaythenia probably wouldn't notice. Surely, people don't pay that much attention to the behavior of those they converse with, right?

Kaythenia wasn't sure if she believed him but decided not to push it, if Link didn't want to say that was his choice. She then noticed the stark white scars were on show and quickly pulled her tunic sleeve down to her knuckles to cover them up. Kaythenia didn't know why she wanted to cover them up, she didn't remember how she got them in the first place.
"Erm alright I'll take your word for it."
'Now I know what he got so freaked out about.'

Link saw Kay look down at the visible scars on her wrists, and then quickly cover them up. That was it. Personal issues, or not...he had to try and help...
"Kay...is everything alright?" He asked, not wanting to bring up the scars immediately.
